Weddings, Engagements and Proposals
Wow, what a year it has been! 2021 has been a very busy year for Jim Walker Photography! My work on SEO over the past 10 years has paid off. Clients are now finding me with Google Searches and Facebook. It takes a little extra effort, but I recommend anyone in this business use Keywords extensively and consistently. It is well worth it in the end. I am still working with Connie Mills of All In One Weddings, when she needs me. My Instagram account, @jimwphotos, has helped keep my photography in the forefront of potential clients as well. I photographed my last wedding of the season in Damariscotta on 16 October at Schooner Landing on a cool, breezy day. But, it did not rain during the festivities. Cassie and Nick had come from Salt Lake City, Utah to exchange their vows on a river boat. A friend of theirs was doing the photos on the boat, and they contracted with me for the reception and photos when they returned to shore. What a great couple and a relaxed and fun time everyone had. A great event to end the season with.
I also get some of my clients through a site called Thumbtack. Kristi and Camron contacted me with a request for Engagement Photos at a Lighthouse in, or around, Portland, Maine on 18 October. They would be coming from Ohio and had never been to Maine. I offered a package with three Lighthouses: Portland Head Light, Spring Point Light, and Bug Light. They loved that idea and were very enthusiastic at the possibilities. The day they arrived it was very cool and breezy once again, but no rain. The session was a great success, with a great couple. Kristi and Camron had been engaged for a month, and wanted to use the photos for their "Save The Date" cards for their wedding in 2022. Another great photo session to end the season. Jim Walker Photography is still busy with several Commercial Head Shot contracts coming up in the next couple of months. Commercial Photography is one of my favorites and I hope to continue to expand in this market. To all my past, current, and future clients, I would like to Thank You for putting your trust in me to give you the best of images to last a lifetime. 2022 is already shaping up to be a great year. Several weddings have already been booked, beginning in January. The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) convention will take place outside of Washington D.C. in January. To top off the beginning of the year, I have a photo safari in Kenya at the Mara Ngenche Safari Camp - Masai Mara booked for March. This is on my bucket list and photos will be posted on my Travel and Wildlife website when I return. It is only October and I am already looking forward to 2022. I am also trying out a new logo. Let me know what you think. For the foreseeable future I am using both logos.
